How it works
How a personalized comic book gets made
One photo and a handful of details become a full comic book starring a real person. Every step is below, along with what happens to the photo and how to choose one that gives the best likeness. The cover preview is free and takes about two minutes; the finished book takes 10 to 15 minutes as a PDF, or about three weeks printed.
The five steps
1. Answer a few questions
Say who the comic is for, what they do all day, their hobbies and the thing they always say. Two or three real details write a better story than twenty vague ones.
2. Upload one photo
One clear, front-facing photo of their face. That single image drives the character design on every panel, not just the cover.
3. Meet the hero, free
In about two minutes you get both covers and the complete first page, before paying anything. Regenerate the cover or try another photo if the likeness is not right.
4. Choose an edition
Digital at $19.90, a 20-page printed comic at $39.90, or the 32-page deluxe at $59.90. Every printed edition includes the PDF.
5. The book gets drawn
The full comic takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes and the PDF is emailed as soon as it is ready. Printed copies arrive in about three weeks.
Choosing the photo
The likeness is the whole product, and it comes almost entirely from this one decision.
One face, looking at the camera
A straight-on photo of a single person. Group shots make the AI guess which face matters.
Good light, no sunglasses
Daylight or a well-lit room. Hats and sunglasses hide the features that make someone recognisable.
Close enough to see them
Head and shoulders is ideal. A full-body shot from across a garden gives too few pixels of face to work with.
Recent, and how they usually look
Glasses in the photo means glasses in the comic. Beard in the photo means beard on every page.
The photo is used to design the character and nothing else. It is never shared or sold, and you can ask us to delete it at any point.
What it is not
Not a photo filter
Nothing is traced over the photo. A character is designed from it, then drawn into new scenes they were never photographed in.
Not a template with a name swapped in
The plot is written from the answers you gave. Two people with the same job get different stories.
Not a children-only product
Most of these are bought for adults: a retiring colleague, a partner on an anniversary, a dad who says he wants nothing.
